Tamas Brass Maa Kali - Maa Durga Deity - Devi Jagdamba Statue/Idol (Golden)
Goddess Kali is linked with everlasting vitality, embodying the concept of "She who brings destruction." The name Kali originates from kala, which translates to "the black one." As Shiva is recognized as Kala - representing timeless eternity, Kali, his companion, also signifies "Time" or "Death." Thus, Kali is venerated as the deity overseeing time and metamorphosis.
The Tale of Kali unfolds: To support her son in his mission to purge the three realms of the proliferating demon, Raktabija, Parvati emerged onto the cosmic battleground as the fearsome goddess Kali - dark as demise, emaciated with hollow eyes, an agape mouth, and unkempt tresses draping her unclothed form.
Kali extended her tongue across the battlefield, consuming the demon's cascading blood drops on her extended tongue before they could touch the earth, thwarting the birth of new demonic life. Raktabija, stripped of his multiplying legions, was rendered impotent. Skanda effortlessly eradicated Raktabija and all his remaining duplicates.
